What is included in the download?
One ZIP containing 34 PDFs: a one-page series overview, 11 student workbooks, 11 teacher guides and 11 answer keys. The workbooks contain 256 one-page readers, with two multiple-choice questions per reader: 512 questions in total. Covers, guides and answer keys are additional to the 256 student pages.
Which students is this for?
This is supplemental phonics and reading practice for Kindergarten–2nd Grade. Choose pages according to phonics skills and support words already taught, rather than grade alone. It can also support guided review when the prerequisites match the learner.
Is this a complete reading curriculum?
No. These are supplementary reading activities, not a complete curriculum, diagnostic tool or standardized assessment. Check each teacher guide for prerequisites and preteach unfamiliar spellings, meanings and support words.
What does each reader include?
A target-word warm-up, high-frequency support words, a short illustrated passage and two text-based multiple-choice questions. Use the passage for reading, rereading and discussion. The preview words are not an exhaustive prerequisite list.
How should I print the files?
Print on US Letter paper (8.5 × 11 inches), in black and white, at Actual Size / 100%. Turn off Fit or Shrink. Each student workbook is one complete book PDF, so you can print a whole book or select individual pages. No cutting or assembly is required.
Are teacher guides and answer keys included?
Yes. Each book has its own guide and answer key. Guides include a quick start, teaching sequence and page-specific preparation notes. Answer keys include the correct choices and supporting words from the passage.
Can families use these at home?
Yes, for practice after the relevant phonics skills and unfamiliar words have been taught. Use the teacher guide to choose a suitable starting point, preview words together, then read and discuss the page.
